## Why AI agents matter

Many business tasks are not one question and one answer. They involve looking things up, comparing, filling forms and updating records. Agents can handle some of these multi-step tasks, freeing people for judgement calls.

## How AI agents work

The agent receives a goal and a set of tools it is allowed to use. It reasons about the next step, calls a tool, reads the result and repeats until it finishes or hits a limit.

Good agents work inside clear boundaries: limited tools, limited permissions and checkpoints where a person approves.

## Common AI agent mistakes

Giving an agent broad permissions on day one. Letting it take irreversible actions without approval. Measuring it on demos instead of real, messy inputs.

Another mistake is using an agent where a fixed workflow would be simpler and more reliable.

## How Gr8r approaches AI agents

We start with the workflow, not the agent. We decide which steps need judgement, which can be fixed rules and where a person must approve. Then we scope tools tightly, log every action and test against realistic cases before anyone relies on it.

A procurement agent reads a supplier quote, checks it against the approved price list, drafts a purchase order and pauses for a manager to approve before anything is sent.

- What is the difference between a chatbot and an AI agent?
A chatbot mainly answers in conversation. An agent can also take steps, such as searching systems or updating records, to complete a task.
- Are AI agents safe to use with business systems?
They can be, with scoped permissions, approval steps for high-impact actions, logging and a way to switch them off. Without those controls, the risk rises quickly.
